Are you anxious to relax in a beautiful peaceful setting with views of two ponds? Are you looking for privacy and comfort for your honeymoon or special get away? Do you want a place where you are close to nature’s wonders? Then come to Gull Cottage.
Within the scenic National Seashore, Gull Cottage is an antique home located back in the woods between two ponds, Gull and Higgins. The house was built in the late 1700’s and was acquired by Pat’s great, great Uncle Julius in the 1890’s. Her family has enjoyed this private and idyllic setting ever since. Virtually every room in the house has scenic views of the ponds, and a screened porch overlooks one of them. Bird-watching can be done from there, from the breakfast alcove, or in the surrounding woods. Hiking and jogging on the back roads around four other ponds to the ocean takes about 30 minutes. Trout and bass are hungry in spring and fall.
The adjacent boathouse, which replaced old garages, was built in 1973 and its upstairs studio renovated with a dormer and a full bath. It has a deck, wooded views of Gull and Higgins Ponds, and a private entrance.
A path leads from the house to our private beach on Gull Pond. Summer sunshine and clear water make sunning and swimming a pleasure. Boating, canoeing, sailing, and wind-surfing are also available. Historic Wellfleet Center is only a five minute drive away.
A full home cooked breakfast is served on the porch overlooking Higgins Pond or in the dining room alcove, affording views of both Gull and Higgins. This meal provides a different menu each morning, which includes items such as fresh fruit, home-baked goods, special eggs and omelets, waffles, hot and cold cereals, or pancakes. Your requests are also considered.
Randy and Pat are readily available to help you plan your day. They look forward to meeting you and making new friends.
